Normally we wouldn’t travel this far from the metro but Andes is an early opener and is now on the Indy Pass. So glad we made the trip. Excellent staff and Tom the manager went out of his way to make our visit special. Very excited to visit again during the season. Definitely worth the trip from the metro in my opinion.
Very good skiing business, a good variety of options from tubing, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing with rentals for all of the above it has been over 20 years sense I have been out here and I wish I would have made it back earlier. They have a ski lodge with a deli for food and beverages not a huge selection but they do have stuff. Parking lot is large for lots of parking options. I would recommend going to check it out they have specials on occasion for discounted prices and special events
I have been going since I was little. It has been fun every time.
I am a disabled combat veteran with a trained service dog. Today, January 1st, 2024 at 5pm, I was told by the woman in the dining area that my service dog was not allowed to be there. I informed her that ADA law states that he can go anywhere i go. She said "no" and told me to go to the manager at the front desk. I walked to the front desk to ask for the manager and was confronted by Manager Tom very rudely telling me that my service dog was not allowed in the building and said there was a sign at the entrance then proceded to ask me if i knew how to read. I politely told him that we have paid for our tickets and have been in the building for the last 2 hours. He asked me for paperwork and if i didnt have them then i would have to leave. Called me a liar when i told him the service dog registry is an online scam and anybody can buy one and that, per ADA laws, he is only allowed to ask me 2 questions. He proceeded to belittle me in front of everyone, even when the sweet employee Kelly told him i was telling the truth. Kelly was the ONLY one in the establishment that knew ADA laws, she needs a raise! Tom made Kelly and i cry with his disgusting language. Kelly tried to apologize for his behavior but something NEEDS to be done because he violated FEDERAL LAW. There is a reason the ADA laws have to be followed. I am going to speak to a lawyer regarding how we will go about this, so that others that come after me dont have to be disrespected like Tom disrespected me today.
Below is a screenshot of the 8 minute video i have, and you can see Tom smirking after breaking ADA laws. Because once he saw that I started recording, he ran to hide behind the gear.
My daughter had her last field trip there, right before Christmas. She's a fifth grader. I have chaperoned the last 2 years. This year, I had to go into work for a couple hours before I headed out to meet the school at Andes Tower Hills . I work in the medical field. I was able to get there by 10 am! TOM ANDERSON refused to let me have my lift ticket that I already paid for through the school trip. He then told me I could pay full price full day lift ticket ($55). Not even discounting the amount I've already paid. AND they didn't even open to the public until noon!!! I brought my own gear, I wasn't even renting gear!! Needless to say, I didn't pay the 55 dollars for a lift ticket!! My daughter was disappointed. As was I. I took time away from work to be there. So this day cost me quite a bit in the long run. Tom then watched me like a hawk the rest of the day. I will not be returning to andes in the future. It's too bad too, I wanted to get season passes as my daughter is at the age of enjoying to ski!! We will have to check out other options, since andes is a far enough drive anyway, we can go anywhere!! Thanks Tom! You're a real JERK!
And I am now blocked from all social media!! Can't handle a factual review!! Tom is a money hungry person.
Great ski hill. Good food in the chalet and the hills are well maintained.
If you are a college student that plans to use the discount on the designated days, make sure to present a physical ID card or request one from your university's card services prior to attending Andes. Digital IDs (Google Wallet, Apple Wallet, Samsung Wallet, etc.) are not accepted, and I wish the requirements for getting the discount were clearer.
Was here chaperoning a school group. The staff were amazingly kind and endlessly encouraging to each kid, regardless of skill or experience.
Thanks to the whole staff!
